I am a member of Local 27 because I wanted to be part of this great organization. This union embraces all members, regardless of gender, race or religious beliefs. We are all members first. As a member my family and I receive great benefits through receiving good wages, and a pension. Knowing that later in life, I will not be a burden to my family and to society, gives me piece of mind.
Local 27 is a good Union to be a part of. I am glad to have found the Carpenters’ Union and became a member. I hope to in the future give back to the Carpenters’ Union and contribute to the Union to return my thanks for all the Union has done for me and my family.
I am a member of local 27 and am proud of it. I like belonging to a union who respect their members and offer qualified and trained tradespeople to the employer. I was very impressed with the UBC Training Center in Las Vegas and the 300 hitters training seminar. I thought it was very well done and I am very grateful that I was chosen to participate in the program.
In 2006 I joined local 27. Over the last 13 years I have learned that hard work, attention to detail and commitment to schedule is what separates me and my fellow brothers from the rest of the industry and maintains our job security. Local 27 constantly highlight the importance of improvement. They not only encourage it, they open the doors for you to do so through their training courses. Ultimately I believe this is because they understand that by bettering their fellow members they are improving the foundation for further growth and maintaining the security that I as a member rely on.
I am an active Local 27 member since 2010. I am engaged with the Union through attending meetings, courses, seminars and member events. What I gained since becoming a member of the Carpenters’ Union is stability, support (moral and financial), an in depth understanding of the union, the importance of being a contributing member that contributes to the collective growth of our Union. I have had the opportunity to get to know our representatives and the importance of their work. I gained knowledge by attending training courses provided at The College of Carpenters. I have had the opportunity to attend training at the Carpenters’ International Training Centre and take part in Leadership Programs. I believe there is always room to learn and grow and I think Local 27 is doing a great job providing members the chance and the tools to better ourselves on the job and in our personal life.
